Mayiladuthurai (Tamil: மயிலாடுதுறை,mayilāṭurai), formerly known by its Sanskrit name Mayavaram and Mayuram (English translation: peacock town) is a town in the Nagapattinam district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the headquarters of the mayiladuthurai taluk of nagapattinam district and is the second-largest town in the district. Mayiladuthurai is situated at a distance of 281 kilometres south-west of chennai, 70 kilometres north-east of thanjavur and 50 kilometres north-west of nagapattinam. Mayiladuthurai gets its name from the peahen form in which the hindu goddess parvathi worshipped the god shiva at this place. The town is one of the 274 saiva holy places in the world.

Hotel PAMS Is a Business Class Hotel and We Are Located Just Opposite The Old Bus Stand. Mayiladuthurai gets its name from the peahen form in which the Hindu goddess Parvathi worshipped the god Shiva at this place. The town is one of the 274 Saiva holy places in the world. Mayiladuthurai is of considerable antiquity and cultural and religious significance. The town must have originated in the Medieval Chola period though there are suburbs that predate the town itself. Mayiladuthurai was ruled by the Early Cholas, Medieval Cholas, Later Cholas, Pandyas, the Vijayanagar Empire, Thanjavur Nayaks, and the Thanjavur Marathas before it was annexed by the British East India Company along with the rest of the Thanjavur Maratha kingdom in 1799. It rose to be an important town during British rule when it formed a part of the Tanjore district. The town was constituted as a grade III municipality in the year 1866. Currently, Mayiladuthurai forms a grade I municipality. The town is situated on a flat plain on the banks of the Kaveri River and is surrounded by paddy fields. The town is situated on the northern border of the Chola Nadu region of Tamil Nadu.

We liked the hotel, it is very clean and tidy. Excellent breakfast and nice location. It is a very good place for family travelers.Everything, from front desk managers to the breakfast menu. Very professional approach and treatment for guests.

"Very comfortable stay"

Enjoyed staying in Pam’s with my spouse. We stayed there for visiting nearby temples. This hotel has very good cars for travel. Complimentary Breakfast, lunch and dinner were good.Clean and Secure

"Decent stay with required amenities"
Our stay for 3 nights was good. We mainly stayed for visiting nearby temples. Room was neat and clean, prompt room service and housekeeping whenever we called. Few facilities could be improved like providing kettle and mini fridge at room.Room was neat, breakfast was good.
Can provide kettle and mini fridge at room. Room is small for the type mentioned (eg: 4+2 can stay as per website)

"Decent hotel but can do more"
I have been visiting this hotel for many years. They have recently renovated the hotel but have missed on small things like paint stains in the bathroom. The ac is not very effective and we had a tv with lines on it. Cleanliness of towels needs improvement. The lesser said about the free breakfast the better. "Ideal Hotel to stay in Mayavaram."
Usually stay here wherever I visit Mayavaram. It has been renovated and maintained well. Family rooms are spacious and air-conditioning system is very good. Ample space for parking cars. Rest room for Drivers with bath facility.Centrally located and comfortable to visit near by temples. Courteous Staff.
Restaurant closes at 1800 hrs and dinner has to be ordered online only or have to go for near-by local restaurants.

"Good location and Excellent Hotel for Stay"
We stayed in this hotel with my parents for 3 days, really enjoyed the stay here and good breakfast also provided from 7 AM. Lunch service also available from 12 30 PM. Best hotel for staying in mayiladudurai. Best location near busstand. Service is good. Rooms are neat. There are many hotels available online, I don't want to name them, but all are worst.
